SINAPI was established in 2006 to design & manufacture Medical Devices with clinical benefit. To date our products are used in over 40 countries.

SINAPI is an owner managed business that employs 250 people, of which >80% are female. We maintain ISO 13485 & ISO 11135, manufacture according to FDA’s GMP standards and have converted to MDR.

“I’m originally from the Eastern Cape, but I moved to the Western Cape in 2010, during the Soccer world cup. I’ve been with Sinapi for more than eight years by now. I started work in production on the Urine meter and chest drain lines, and I did a little bit of work on the scalpel line. After that I moved to the mouldshop, where I worked for seven years. My brother also works for Sinapi, in the mould shop.
We are 5 kids, 2 big brothers and a sister, and then twin boys. My mother used to live here with us, but moved back to the Eastern Cape after we matriculated.
Apart from work, I’m a church guy. I sing at church, and we also have a band that I lead. I play a few instruments that include trumpet, trombone, tuba, bass drum and side drum!”

“I am a young, innovative goal driven individual who loves baking in my free time. I have obtained various skills in different fields, and I am the mother of a beautiful daughter.
I’ve been with Sinapi for two years, I started inside Production on the bulb station, before I was promoted to production administrator. Along the way there were challenges to avoid such as negativity, but I kept telling myself that I’m here to make a difference.
Working at Sinapi is a privilege for me. Being part of the process of creating medical devices to save people’s lives, is a humbling experience and it reminds me to be grateful that I am healthy and still alive.”

“I started at Sinapi 15 years ago in 2009. Initially I was a general worker in production, one of only 7 people there. I moved to the warehouse as a Stores lady, and from there worked my way up to warehouse manager. Currently I’m the warehouse manager, buyer and I also work in local logistics and imports.
Apart from work I used to be an avid soccer player. I love hiking and to be in nature, the peace and calmness of it. Working in operations is fast paced and can come with a lot of pressure every day, nature is my release. Hiking, walking, anything in between. I’m gathering plants to start learning from them, it’s a new hobby I enjoy spending time on. I recently got some Proteas, studying and learning to take care of them and then I have a lot of succulents.
There are many moments that stand out in my time at Sinapi, in which we grew from 7 people to over 100. Moving from our original products to the variety and quality of products that we make now. Saving people’s lives, gives me an everyday purpose and reminder of the amazing work we do. The growth and helping people that are underprivileged, developing new products.
I can’t pick a single moment from amongst these as a highlight. The highlight is the growth of the company, new more advanced, quality products that can assist in saving people’s lives.”

“I’ve been with Sinapi for almost seven years now, I started in production as a Multivac operator, and I’m currently the Senior production supervisor.
I’m the mother of two beautiful girls, 11 and 15. They are in Kayamandi primary, and Kayamandi high schools.
If I have to pick something that stands out for me from my time with Sinapi, it’s that it wasn’t easy for me to be where I am today. Working with the people in production can be quite tough. I told myself I’m not here to be loved, I’m here to work for my kids and my family. I had my managers who kept me motivated, first Tobias, and then Chantelle. They helped me to be where I am today with their motivational words.”
